Graduates of the degree program find a variety of fields of activity in nursing or health care facilities, for example in leadership or management functions in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, senior citizens' facilities and other outpatient or inpatient health care facilities. They can work in institutions or independently as consultants or experts or as experts for health/nursing care insurance companies, the medical service or in public health administration. The acquired pedagogical skills also support your competent actions in the area of management in employee management or in interdisciplinary exchange.
In the field of vocational education, the degree course will qualify you to work as a teacher for practical teaching or practical guidance in the healthcare sector. You will therefore be able to take on teaching positions in (in-company) training and further education institutions in the healthcare sector. Staff positions in nursing management are also possible, e.g. head of practical instruction. You will also be able to contribute to the further development of curricula and pedagogical and professional concepts or to school development. The additional skills acquired in the area of management are helpful for functions in education management, but also in staff positions in the nursing directorate. Dealing with change and risks, as well as project management skills, are skills that are required in all fields of work today.
Nursing and health-related research is another field of activity. The Bachelor's degree qualifies you for a further Master's course in the fields of management or vocational or nursing education. As a rule, 25 - 30 ECTS are expected as a basic qualification for a Master's course in the respective field.
For those interested without a university entrance qualification, there is the possibility of an entrance examination or a trial course of study in a limited number and special procedure. Please note that an application must be submitted to htw saar by April 1st of the year. Therefore, counseling appointments should be scheduled by February of each year at the latest.

Professional skills acquired during training are recognized with a maximum total of 30 ECTS credits (equivalent to one semester of study).
