Applicants with a German university entrance qualification apply directly via the online application portal of the htw saar.
Applicants with foreign educational certificates must first apply for a preliminary examination documentation (VPD) via uni assist / an endorsement of recognition for the purpose of preliminary examination of their certificates. To the online application of uni assist:https://my.uni-assist.de/

Only with the VPD can the application be submitted via the online application portal of the htw saar.
If you have obtained your higher education entrance qualification in Luxembourg under Luxembourg law, you do not need a VPD. Apply directly via the htw saar application portal.
In the first step , your application will be formally checked by Student Services.
In the second step, the subject-specific assessment is carried out by the admissions committee.
Following the formal and subject-related assessment, the admission or rejection letters are issued and made available in the application portal.
The htw saar application portal for applications for the summer semester opens at the beginning of December, for applications for the winter semester in May.
The application deadline for the summer semester is January 15, for the winter semester July 15.
Some of our Master's degree programs are also offered in the summersemester.
An upload of your German university entrance qualification in the application portal is sufficient for the application.
Applicants with foreign educational certificates must submit theirforeign university entrance qualification in theoriginal language. In addition,we require a translation of the foreign university entrance qualificationinto German or English.
If you are applying for a German-language degree program, you must provide proof of German language proficiencyatlevel C1.
Prospective students with a German, Luxembourg or Austrian university entrance qualification do not need to provide proof of their German language skills.

Depending on the Master's degree program, language certificates, letters of motivation or other documents may be required in addition to the regular documents to be submitted.

Many prospective students do not yet have their Bachelor's degree by the application deadline. This is not a problem, as you can apply on the basis of a current transcript of records, which includes the ECTS points you have earned to date and your current average grade.
The same applies to applicants with foreign certificates. Submit the final transcript of records to uni assist.

In principle, you can apply for a Master's degree program at htw saar with a foreign university degree. Whether your degree is recognized in Germany and whether the content requirements are met must be checked by uni assist, the admissions office and the selection committee on the basis of your application documents.
You may be able to prove two different things with one document: for example, you can upload your high school diploma as proof of "university entrance qualification" and also use it as proof of language proficiency for some degree programs. In this case, upload the certificate in addition to the "Language certificates" query.
