The Industrial Engineering and Management degree course achieved very good scores in all categories of the student evaluations, thus securing its top rankings of recent years in a nationwide comparison. From the general study situation to the support provided by lecturers, support for studying abroad, the use of digital teaching elements, equipment and practical orientation - students consistently gave the course top marks. In the area of facts about teaching and research, the degree program achieved places in the top group with support at the beginning of the course, degrees in a reasonable time and contact with professional practice.

Industrial engineers are servants of two masters - in the very best sense of the word. Because they combine skills and experience from economics with the know-how of engineers and technicians. The world is open to industrial engineers: the world of mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry, the aerospace sector, but also transportation and logistics.
With this wide range of possibilities, it is crucial to train and shape the necessary skills in an academically sound and at the same time practice-oriented course. The Master's degree course in Industrial Engineering and Management at htw saar has this goal and aspiration. We would like to support students in honing their profile as generalists and specialists at the same time. This is why we offer both breadth and depth in our degree program - a broad portfolio of specializations in which students can go into depth depending on their inclinations and interests. They can choose specializations in areas such as management and leadership, production management, system development and innovation management, where they can draw on well-founded, up-to-date theories and support their implementation in practical projects with regional, national or international business and research. Graduates of industrial engineering are qualified for a wide range of roles thanks to the carefully selected mix of business and engineering subjects. These can be found in the higher civil service as well as in industry, trade, logistics and marketing. There they work as managers at the interface between technology and business. Among other things, they can manage product development and its implementation, be responsible for the planning and manufacture of products and hold the reins between management, marketing and sales. Industrial engineers are currently being recruited in the information technology sector in particular. However, there is also the possibility of becoming self-employed and working as a consultant. The degree at htw saar is accredited, internationally recognized and opens up access to doctoral studies.
