In our Master's degree program, we have our finger on the pulse of the digital age, react to trends and incorporate them into our teaching. In this way, we prepare our students for their tasks in the exciting intersection of computer science and communication technology and enable them to take on management responsibility in the near future.
Our lives are surrounded by numerous invisible networks. These networks transport our data as soon as we make a phone call, send an email, shop on a website, configure devices in our smart home or play a role-playing game via an app. A modern economy and society without such networks? Unthinkable. So much so that news about the allocation of a 5G network is now making it onto the front pages of the daily media.
This makes it all the more important that there are people who can plan, analyze and further develop networks. This is why htw saar offers the Master's degree course in Communication Informatics. We teach students with a Bachelor's degree a conceptual-analytical view of technically oriented computer science. They gain advanced knowledge in areas such as modeling languages, complex communication structures, software development, cryptography and mobile computing. We train students' abstraction skills and enable them to implement networks technically, organizationally and financially. We also teach useful basics in personnel and corporate management as well as IT/telecommunications law for managers in order to prepare our students for a future management role.
This knowledge forms the basis for helping to shape the rapid development of communication technologies in their future careers and playing a leading role in a management position.
As with the Bachelor's degree course, the Master's degree course has an international focus. The Master's degree course in Communication Informatics is accredited by the ASIIN agency and therefore meets national and international standards. In the second year of study, students can spend an Erasmus semester at one of the partner universities or write their Master's thesis abroad.
The Master's degree course in Communication Informatics deals with the following questions:
Graduates of the Master's degree program signal to the business world that they want to take on management responsibility in the future and have the specialist knowledge and skills to do so. Graduates can therefore work in many sectors and areas in which the development, analysis, construction and control of communication networks play a role. They have in-depth knowledge of both computer science and communications technology, develop intelligent hardware and software systems in a specialist or management position and implement them as required. They work as developers, administrators or consultants in numerous industries such as automotive, transportation, production or telecommunications and take the digital ecosystem of data, networks, devices and users to a new level.
