There are probably few industries that face such major challenges in all areas as mechanical and process engineering. The automotive industry is Germany's largest employer and needs to reinvent itself. And environmental technology urgently needs to come up with solutions that protect our livelihoods but are also economically viable if we want to maintain our standard of living.
A new generation of engineers is needed to meet these and many other challenges. We need managers who have a deep technical understanding and can also make decisions in a team that determine the course of entire departments or a company. We prepare students for this with comprehensive training in management strategies, economic issues, finance and business English.

Where others still see problems, our graduates already recognize solutions after their studies. In Mechanical Engineering, they therefore enter product development, design, research or construction. Or in the industrial production of machines and vehicle construction through to medical technology.
Process engineering graduates are often employed in the design, planning and construction of plants in medium-sized and large companies. The safe and economical operation of such sometimes enormous, but above all complex plants requires a great deal of technical understanding and always an eye on the economic key figures. This is why this work always takes place in large teams of experts who coordinate and work together in a solution-oriented manner.
However, the economic orientation of the degree course also enables students in both disciplines to enter technical sales, consulting, materials development and quality management.
With the Master of Engineering at htw saar, we give our students a deep insight into the art of leadership. As a result, they are soon able to work in senior positions with personnel and budget responsibility.
