I am fascinated by the commitment of the students on this course. They all have a real vision and get through the theory and our projects in practice very well thanks to the time management skills they have learned on the job. Companies therefore welcome our graduates with open arms.
- Prof. Dr. Malte Beinhauer, Dekan der wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät
Entire sectors of the economy have changed fundamentally in recent years. Globalization and digitalization have led to the rise of companies that have displaced huge corporations with hundreds of thousands of employees from top positions just a few years after they were founded. And the change will continue. We are facing upheavals that are characterized by innovations such as artificial intelligence on the one hand and the requirements of a sustainable economy on the other. This requires business economists who are ready, who can adapt flexibly to new situations and make smart decisions.
The special thing about the part-time Bachelor's degree course in Business Administration at htw saar is that we offer two days of attendance per week compared to a distance learning course. This creates a real feeling of studying, you can exchange ideas and establish important networks.
The students already have an apprenticeship under their belt and are firmly established in professional life. In most cases, employers even actively support the course. Projects that are scientifically supported in the company provide further important experience. This benefits students and the companies in which they work. In addition, students are specifically developed in business skills such as presentation techniques, conflict management and rhetoric.
The part-time Business Administration course addresses the following questions:
After seven semesters, graduates complete a Bachelor of Arts (180 ETCS). Prospective students with a technical college or university entrance qualification (Abitur) as well as school-leaving qualifications approved by the Ministry of Education and a completed relevant vocational training can apply.
The htw saar does not enter into any contracts with employers, which gives students a certain degree of security with regard to their studies and their job. If, for example, there is a change in employment during your studies, your studies are not automatically jeopardized.
The application deadline for the winter semester ends on August 1 of the respective year. Students have to pay €900 per semester, which they can finance via a special offer from Sparkasse Saarbrücken.
I'm really glad that I decided to do a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I definitely want to do a Master's after graduation.
Eva Müller, Studentin
The majority of graduates stay with the company they worked for when they started their studies. These include companies from all sectors as well as banks and insurance companies.
Around a fifth of graduates go one step further and begin a Master's degree course, which is also possible at other universities while working. At htw saar, students have the option of studying for a Master's degree full-time, part-time or part-time in either 3 or 4 semesters. You can choose between International Management, Tourism Management, Cultural Management, Marketing Science, Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Supply Chain Management and Industrial Engineering.
I was happy to have written a Bachelor's thesis that didn't end up in a drawer, but could be applied one-to-one in practice to a large extent.
