Three-year dual study program leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Business Informatics. Each year there are three theoretical blocks at the ASW. In the remaining time, students gain practical experience in the cooperating training company. Tuition fees are paid by the training company, and students also receive a training allowance.
The admission requirement for a dual course of study at htw saar and ASW is a general higher education entrance qualification or a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification. Further admission options and special regulations can be found here.
The increasing digitalization of operational processes requires qualified personnel with both business and technical expertise in all areas of the economy.
At the ASW, future business IT specialists acquire broad-based knowledge in both areas. The interlinking of theoretical and practical training elements ensures that they can immediately apply the knowledge they have acquired and adapt it to the specific needs of the partner companies involved.
The primary aim of the dual degree course in Business Information Systems is to provide prospective business information systems specialists with professional qualifications. Thanks to the professional and social skills acquired during their studies, graduates are able to make goal-oriented management decisions and play a responsible role in company development. The practice-integrated degree program provides graduates with excellent conditions for a successful career start and excellent career opportunities.
In all areas, the course content is developed in a practical, project-based and team-oriented manner. The course content is a balanced mix of the following areas:
The modules of the degree program are tailored in such a way that they are primarily self-contained areas of knowledge.
The added value of a dual degree program results primarily from the interlocking of acquired theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the training company. In order to give the training companies the opportunity to optimize this dovetailing through the design of their training plans, the distribution of theoretical lessons over the three theoretical blocks of an academic year follows a fixed schedule. If the training company takes this schedule into account when designing the practical training in the company, the success of the course can be optimized.
The time schedule and the content of the practical training in the companies are roughly specified in the training framework plan:
